About Tempest...
- Questions?
- I don't mind at all answering
serious questions about
Witchcraft, but I do ask for respectful and intelligently written emails.
It can get very annoying receiving 50 emails with the single line "send
me
your book of shadows or all your spells--thanks". I am also not
a
psychiatrist or spell factory. Tell me a little about yourself, and
what it
is you're looking for. You wouldn't just come up to me in real life
and
spout a line like the one above right out, so don't expect me to answer
such
nonsense in email. Cause one day, you never know, you just may meet
this
Witch. You may send email to me at tempestthewitch@yahoo.com.
I will try
- to answer your emails
as quickly as I can, though please be patient! It can take
up to a few weeks for me to get on track if we've been on the road.
Who is Tempest anyway?
I have been a practicing Witch for over 13 years now,
and held Pagan beliefs
for most of my life. My journey down this path has been an interesting
one.
At a young age, I spent many hours reading about ancient cultures and
the
occult, as well as many hours in my parents' backyard studying nature
and
working with it. I was given a Catholic education, but found myself
constantly at odds with its belief systems and dogma. I looked into
my
father's religion of Judaism after hearing about "the Jewish Goddess"
Shekinah, but still did not find what I needed. I remember about age
twelve
reading Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon and wishing that
religion was still alive. Not long after did I discover it truly was
in many
forms, and that my beliefs did have a name and religion of their
own--Witchcraft. And so I took the necessary direction in order to follow
my
path more deeply, studying and learning from teachers, mentors, and
other
Family. I was the head and founder of the Cauldron of Annwyn Pagan
Society---a collective of solitary Pagans who came together to network
and
celebrate for 3 years (now part of "RIPagans"), co-founder
of PYRAA--
The Pagan Youth Religion & Art Alliance, and was the Associate
Editor and Creative Director of Crescent
Magazine. Besides from
the rather public activities, I am the head, or as we call it, the Focus,
of
the First and Second House of the Modern Tradition. My profession is
artist----to see my work, click here.
I now live with my husband and our cat
in the Bay Area of California, and tend to be a bit more quiet community-wise
then I was back in Rhode Island. Besides vending my artwork and the
magazine
at local faires and festivals, I read Tarot at the San Jose Metaphysical
Book Shop
on occasion, and mainly exercise my spirituality through dance exploration
and workshops.
